Who we are!
Betty and I have been married over twenty-five years and celebrate with our three children Anna, Daniel, and Joshua. Over the years we have survived abandonment, abuse, the death of two children, bankruptcy, adulteress affairs, and more. It is through these trials and adversities the Lord showed his mercy and grace and was brave enough to love us through it all.
1 Peter 4:8 says " Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins." (NLT) We believe transparency and truth paves the way for restoration to take place in your life.
Can you love deeply when someone hurts you? Can you love deeply when those closest to you let you down? We pose this question... Are you BRAVE ENOUGH 2 LOVE?
What we do!
Brave Enough 2 Love is a ministry focused on single adults, couples, families and marriages. As a team, we desire to come to your church service, teen youth event, or conference to share in song and word the goodness of the Lord and his power of restoration and hope.
By sharing the word, our testimony, and life stories we are on assignment to bring a message that God loves you and as the power to change your life no matter how bad you feel your past is or the decisions you have made. We know if you are BRAVE ENOUGH 2 LOVE the Lord will begin to brake chains, heal and release past hurts like you never thought possible.
Why we do!
The church is under attack means families and homes are under attack. We are confident that if the Lord can heal and restore our home, He can do the same for you.
The Lord has used us and the message he has given to touch the lives of couples and families on the verge of separation and divorce, restoring these homes to a place better than they were before. They were BRAVE ENOUGH 2 LOVE! Restore the home, Restore the family, Restore the Church!
What is Brave Enough 2 Love
Brave Enough 2 Love is a ministry birthed through the trials and tests that we were faced with throughout our lives and marriage that created and caused deep hurt and pain. We had to make a decision and ask ourselves are we Brave Enough 2 Love each other, those that hurt us whether intentionally or not. We want to come and share a message of restoration,forgiveness, and most of all love, moreover, Gods love. A few areas that we focus on are as follows:
Abandonment - When I was born my dad was 24 and my mom was 43. My dad was an alcoholic and womanizer and my mom had a nervous breakdown. Neither parent fit to raise a child they gave me to a friend of the family took me, for what was supposed to be a couple of months, turning into years. When I turned 25, the Lord orchestrated a first time family reunion and restored my family. There is more to the story.
Abuse - When I was about seven years old I was sexually abused by a man in our neighborhood. This attack was the planting of a seed that led to a string of other different sexual instances that would lead to a sexual addiction to pornography and would later bring into our marriage. During the early years of high school, Betty was struggling in areas of self worth and end up with the wrong crowd and was raped at fourteen years young. The combination of these two backgrounds was the mixture of a toxic concoction that would lead to adulterous affairs by both of us, yet through it all instead of getting a divorce,we chose to be Brave Enough 2 Love and God restored our marriage.There is more to this story.
Death - When most couples newly married are learning how to live together, buy houses and have fun, we were grieving the death of our first two children. Our first child was stillborn at four and a half months, our second child was 3 months premature and she lived for 18 days. God was Brave Enough 2 Love us, us each other, and 3 wonderful children later, though it was very tough(there is more to the story) God restored our children.
We hope this gives you a better picture of how good God is and has been to us and our family. We want to come and share Gods goodness and encourage someone you know. Everyone has faced hurt and offense, we want to come and share you can be healed and love again.
Bios
Thomas Maddox
Thomas gave his heart to the Lord at the age of 19. He started in the ministry playing drums. Since then he also plays bass guitar, and percussion and has served as a member of a praise team and church band for over 25 years, as well as, traveled with his family gospel group. During these same years he served the church in youth leadership, mens groups, teaching Sunday school and marriage studies. From mission trips to nursing homes to feeding the homeless, he has a heart for people and a desire to share his story of abandonment, abuse, and addiction. Most importantly, how the Lords grace and mercy has kept and delivered him and restored that which the enemy took.
Betty Maddox
Betty was raised in church and growing up around family singing, she started singing at 4 years of age. Her family would support the local radio station programs and she would sing with them. Betty has sang with her family gospel group, praise team or choir since she was 15 years old. Betty has played piano and lead worship for church, as well as, been the backbone and side-kick support in serving with her husband Thomas. Betty has an incredible message of hope, love, and forgiveness and most importantly restoration and that no matter what, your past decisions do not have to hold you captive.
